F.I.T. Packaging Analysis

I have included 3 of my favorite products for the source of the packaging I like, versus 3 images of products I have never tried, nor would I even give them a chance due to their unassuming and confusing packaging.

The first product shown is Agadir deep conditioning mask. I know that wine grapes have amazing properties to them, as does CBD so it speaks to me.

The next listed is Amika Dry Shampoo. It’s in a standard hair spray bottle with a design that commands attention and screams BUY ME with their signature gorgeous colors and patterns.

The last of the trio is CBD Daily serum. Again, this is an item that is in a standard serum bottle so that on it’s own is pretty straight forward. The marijuana plant leaf and green text push the CBD agenda well and speak to my knowledge of the benefits of CBD in skincare products.

The last 3 products are very unassuming, and confusing.

The first tube looks like a hand cream but is actually a cream blush. In my 25+ years as a makeup artist I would never buy something like this as it would not be easy to transport, would be extremely messy to travel with and a very unpredictable application.

The middle photo is a lash boost. The tube is odd, oval ash shaped, and even though it says LASHBOOST in big letters, I don’t know what lash boost means and it looks like an electric lash curler or mini razor. The last photo says FLESH on what looks like a lip moisturizer of some kind. Their main graphic looks like a bronzer color, so that’s also deceiving as it’s actually a foundation stick.

While I applaud their ingenuity for trying to be different and stand out, I am afraid it’s doing the opposite of what they intend.
